HRIKALEGIR (Hellacious) is a feature documentary about Steve Gym, a downtown Reykjavík dungeon filled with calibrated steel and powerlifting strongmen. There Steve, a sixty-six-year old six-packed decathlon champion trains his determined disciples in the art of weightlifting. In spite of the Icelandic public's lack of interest in power sport, their low social stigma and struggles with mental illness, the gentle giants of Steve Gym become World Champions of powerlifting.
